Project 31 - OCWA

Location: Hussein Refugee Camp

Reach: 300+

Year: 2021

OCWA was established in the heart of Al-Hussein Refugee Camp in 2009 to provide a space for arts and creative exploration for Palestinian children. It serves as a vital connection to their Palestinian culture and heritage, offering a dedicated environment and resources to nurture their talents.

Over the years, OCWA has evolved beyond a simple community center; it has become a second home for these children, fostering a strong sense of belonging while encouraging self-expression and creativity.

For this project, we first conducted workshops with the children, focusing on their hopes and dreams. Each child created their own superhero doll, symbolizing their aspirations. Following this, in partnership with Tamatem, we painted a mural in OCWA's activity room, transforming it into a beautified and welcoming space that inspires the children to engage in their activities with renewed enthusiasm.
