BORDA WESCA is dedicated to creating and facilitating access to essential services such as energy supply, sanitation, wastewater management, and water provision.
Jordan’s Azraq Wetland Reserve, situated in the eastern desert about an hour's drive from Amman, is a unique ecosystem and a crucial migratory stopover for birds from three different continents, making it a popular destination for bird-watching enthusiasts.
Historically rich in water, Azraq has undergone radical ecological and socio-economic changes due to over-extraction from its basin. Once thriving, it is now classified as a poverty pocket in urgent need of development and governmental support.
The Orenda Tribe partnered with BORDA-WESCA to engage students from public schools in Azraq—the future stewards of the community—in a series of workshops aimed at raising awareness about the water crisis and exploring potential solutions.
