As I sit on the dining table around my family and about to break my fast, I reflect on my day and feel grateful for all the basic things that I have in my life.
Yesterday, we completed a new school beautification project at Gaza Refugee Camp and distributed food packages for 32 families from donations that The Orenda Tribe raised.
Each package contained basic food such as oil, sugar, flour and so on. Food that should be sufficient for one week per family.
Between fasting, spending the whole day in the sun at the camp, distributing the food packages and seeing the humbleness and thankfulness in the camp's people faces while receiving the food packages, something hit me.
We take many things for granted. Basic things that might be luxuries for others. A thing that The Orenda Tribe constantly reminds me of.
As I sit at the dining table around my family and about to break my fast, my mother noted that she only made one main food dish today for iftar, instead of complaining (as I always do), I smiled, looked at the food and was grateful for what I have.
